Check where a domain ranks on Google

Any page or subdomain of it counts, e.g. example.com.

Free, no account. 10 checks a day; repeats within 24 hours are free.

What you get

  • Your domain's best position in Google's top 20 for the keyword.
  • The page that ranks, and which results page it is on.
  • The top three other domains for the same search.

How the rank checker works

  1. 01Enter a keyword and your domainType the domain alone (example.com) or paste any address on it: the check matches every page and subdomain of the domain.
  2. 02Google's first results page is readThe checker loads Google's first page for the keyword in the country and language you pick, without a Google account. When your domain isn't on it, the second page is read too.
  3. 03You get the positionYour domain's best position across those pages, the page that ranks, how many results were searched, and the top three other domains for the same search.

FAQ

Questions about the rank checker

Is the Google rank checker free?

Yes. It needs no account and no card. Each visitor gets 10 checks a day. A keyword checked in the same country and language in the last 24 hours is answered from that check, for any domain, without using one.

How deep does it search?

Google's first two results pages, the top 20. Google mixes videos, questions and other blocks in among the results, so two pages often hold fewer than 20 organic results; the answer says how many were searched. The API reads up to the top 100.

Does a subdomain or a deep page count?

Yes. The check matches the domain itself, so blog.example.com and example.com/pricing both count for example.com, and the answer names the page that ranked.

Why is this different from my Search Console position?

Search Console averages your position over every search, location and device in a period. The checker reads one live desktop results page for one country and language, without personalisation, at the moment you run it.

Can I check rankings in a city?

No, the checker works by country. Google no longer localises a results page by a location setting, so a city-level position would be a guess. The API refuses city locations for the same reason.

Can I track rankings every day?

Not with the free checker. The /rankings/check endpoint checks a keyword and domain to any depth up to 100 (3 credits per 10 results), /rankings/batch checks many keywords at once, and /rankings/history returns the checks you ran, free. 3,000 free credits on sign-up, no card required.

Need this in your app? Use the rank check API

The checker is one request to /rankings/check. depth 20 reads two results pages for 6 credits; the default, 100, reads ten.
